Jessie May Families and Nurses came together last week for a SUPER ‘Supercars Day’ at the Kingswood Estate! We love organising family fun days for the Jessie May families and really stepped up a gear during the ‘Jessie May Supercars Day’!

The Kingswood Estate car park welcomed not 1 but 6 luxurious supercars on Tuesday (16th) as the likes of Porsches and Mercedes lined up in style.

The world-famous cars came together with their supercar drivers for the special day, thanks to our amazing friends at Supercar Driver. An Aston Martin, BMW, Mercedes and 3 Porsches glided into the estate to the delight of 15 Jessie May Families and Jessie May staff. Families and nurses were invited to sit inside the exotic cars and rev the engines!

After exploring the supercars, families were invited to enjoy some pre-Easter crafts. Huge thanks to our supporters at Pear Tree Recruitment who hosted these activities, which included decorating Easter biscuits, making Easter baskets and creating bunny masks!

Glen, dad to 3 year old Buzz, said: “We – myself, Buzz and his mum Vicki, had an amazing time at the Supercars Day. I’m actually the editor of a cars magazine so have a real passion for cars anyway.

It was really good to be able to see the supercars during a family fun day and not have to write an article at the end!

Buzz had a really great time and enjoyed meeting all of his friends. Lots of his mates he’s met through hospital, hospices and the respite days at Woodside that Jessie May hold. It’s nice to have them all come together – and really social for the parents like me too!”

“Lots of us have also met in hospital and at Woodside; we’ve sort of become a Jessie May extended family! The supercars all looked amazing and Buzz really enjoyed the Easter crafts they put on too.”

We all had an amazing day and would like to thank everyone involved in such an exciting experience, including Supercar Driver, Pear Tree Recruitment and all the families who came along!
