A Swindon amateur dramatics group has raised over £530 for Jessie May!

SALOS, Swindon’s Premier Musical Theatre Company, presented a cheque for £539.77 to Jessie May this week to help fund our charity’s nurses who support families across the area caring for a terminally ill child.

The amateur dramatics group raised the money after holding multiple bucket collections for Jessie May during their autumn production of Oklahoma! in October last year.

President of SALOS Alan Wrixon presented the cheque to our Swindon fundraiser Debbie Clark just ahead of their very first new show launch for cast and crew; The Sound of Music, which officially hits the stage at Swindon Wyvern Theatre in October.

Alan said: “It was so great for us to meet Debbie from Jessie May and be able to hand over a cheque for over £500!

This money was raised by our generous audiences during Oklahoma! last October and it was great to hear where the money will be going and find out how it will help local families. Thank you to everyone who kindly donate

Debbie, who is based in our Swindon office at Rombourne’s Kingston House, added: “It was a pleasure to visit the wonderful cast and team at SALOS this week and I was delighted to be presented with the cheque for £539.77 for the charity. This fantastic boost in funding will make such a difference to our charity and help our nurses continue to support families, in Swindon and Wiltshire and beyond.

“I’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone involved in raising the money during SALOS’ production of Oklahoma! and wish the cast and crew all the best for their upcoming performances of The Sound of Music. On top of performing beautifully, you have all generously supported multiple families in need of that extra bit of help our specialist nurses can provide. Thank you all so much.”

Thank you everyone at SALOS for your incredible support!

SALOS will be staging The Sound of Music at The Wyvern Theatre, Swindon for 6 performances from Wednesday 16th – Sunday 20th October 2019. To find out more about SALOS click here.
